The International Energy Agency (IEA) is an intergovernmental organisation committed to advancing security of energy supply, economic growth and environmental sustainability through energy policy co-operation. The IEA operates as an autonomous body within the framework of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. Both the OECD and the IEA seek opportunities to work with an increasing number of non-members of growing importance to the world economy. The IEA is looking for interns with a proficiency in visual storytelling and graphic design to help support its digitalization strategy. The main tasks are to work with the IEA's web team, including the social media editor, web producers, and others and develop new digital and print outputs for all of the IEA's platforms. The position is located with the IEA Communications & Digital Office, in Paris. Duration: Six months internship based in Paris, including a monthly stipend of around 1000 euros. Main Responsibilities • Develop graphics, infographics, charts and maps for use across digital and print formats. • Produce and design covers, brochures, banners and other collateral as needed. • Perform image searches for use across digital and print formats. • Provide communications support for digital product launches and in person events. • Support the IEA's web team, including web producers, the social media editor, and colleagues across the communications unit. • Stay on top of the latest digital communications trends, evaluating and incorporating them into the IEA's communications strategy when appropriate.
Skills • Strong understanding and application of graphic design principles. • Very strong working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, in particular inDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, and of Adobe Acrobat Pro. • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft suite, (Word, Powerpoint, Excel) • Ability to take a design from concept to completion. • Detail oriented, ability follow brand and graphic style guides. • Ability to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines and ability to manage time effectively. • Familiarity with web development. Knowledge of Highcharts would be a plus. • Strong understanding of social media platforms and how to use them effectively. Languages • Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) and knowledge of the other, with a commitment to reach a good working level.
