The British Embassy in Paris is part of a worldwide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas. We are looking for an intern specialising in graphic design and/or film to join the Politics, Engagement and Public Affairs Section, which manages the Embassy’s relations with the public, the media and political contacts. The ideal candidate will be a multi-tasker with a hands-on attitude, and a desire to build a portfolio of communications products for use across a range of issues – from creating graphics that inform British people about Brexit, to thinking innovatively about how to promote the UK’s environmental credentials. You will have excellent team-working skills and be motivated to play an important role in building Franco-British relations at an important, and fascinating, time in both countries. Main Roles and Responsibilities: Communication Campaigns: Designing graphics, animations etc to support the media and outreach teams’ campaigns across a range of issues – from innovation to the environment, via information on Brexit. Follow a campaign planning process from design, through implementation, to evaluation. Public Diplomacy: Designing products for external and internal audiences e.g. invites, flyers, posters for events. Other tasks as necessary, including administrative or corporate support for the team.
Good written and spoken English and French Proven technical skills in creating audio-visual content for use on websites and social media as well as relevant multimedia software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, AfterEffects, etc.). Excellent knowledge of social media use Familiarity with Outlook and Excel Ability to work well in a team or individually Attention to detail and good organisational skills Ability to meet deadlines
