embroidery workshop

The embroidery workshop provides first of all an introduction of traditional techniques done by hand: stitches, appliqué, beading, sequins, metallic couchures, crochet; and secondly the more mechanical techniques like sewing machines and a cornély embroidery machine.

This introduction takes place during the first year around collective work themes and through sample making and the first embroidered pieces.

It continues in the second year, this time around an individual project in which the technique becomes part of a complete process of creation, in fact it is even the most important part: the needle takes the place of the pencil. Thanks to contacts with the professional world the students can then not only envisage a career in concept design, but also be capable of carrying it out. Finally embroidery, or the art of thread, becomes the art of living.
